The Trenton Care & Share Food Bank is an active member of the Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB). OAFB set Operating Policy, Standards of Operation and By-Laws for all members. The OAFB’s current policies allow only one food bank per town/community/city to hold membership status.

OAFB members are food banks, as outlined in By-Law #1 Section 8, operating in the province of Ontario. All members are assigned to one of four geographical zones. Within those zones there is one Distribution Centre and Regional Hubs.  Trenton Care & Share Food Bank is located in the Eastern Zone, connected to Cobourg Regional Hub and is formally recognized as the official member for the City of Quinte West. Community boundaries are determined according to the municipal definitions outlined in the Ontario Municipal Act 2001. All members must be the steward of food for the community they serve.   All members agree to only serve clients who reside within their community boundaries.
